There are now three, different, monthly research news emails
In January 2006 we sent the first Health News about 16+ a free, monthly news email with Internet links to information about 16+ year old's health and behaviour chosen from our databanks and the Internet. Since then we have added two more free, monthly emails so that we now cover news about young people ranging from around 5 -16+ year olds.
The idea first started when people, working in FE Colleges, were finding little relevant health-related news about young people in one website. From that begining we now send thousands of emails each month to a range of education and health settings for those concerned with the healthy development of young people.
The health news aim to feature research findings and relevant developments around the world that are grouped around a number of themes including food, drugs, exercise etc. As the health news have developed there have been many positive comments from subscribers including,
"The health news is a super resource, very interesting and informative" (FE Learning Adviser)
"I use the information on this website to inform not just my planning for schemes of work and for lessons as part of my role as PSHE Co-ordinator but also for the planning of whole school issues." (PSHE Co-ordinator)
"I am very impressed with the content of the health news. Thank you very much indeed." (Health Improvement Officer)
"I like the format, easy to read, links work, and the information that you provide. A global view is important".(Healthy Children's Officer)
"I found it really easy to navigate and to follow links to get further information on topics which interested me. Congratulations on a good publication". (Health Improvement Manager)
