Single-topic Surveys

We have developed specialist surveys, mostly for secondary-age pupils, in the key target areas for public health improvement:

  • Alcohol, drugs and tobacco
  • Bullying and Emotional Well-being
  • Food and physical activity
  • Sex and Relationships

We have conducted other surveys in the past with different topics:

Secondary school surveys

A longer and more thorough questionnaire can be designed for secondary-age pupils.
You can find the answers to questions like:

Primary school surveys

Hundreds of primary schools carry out surveys with SHEU every year.

Our questionnaires have versions for KS1 and KS2 primary pupils.

We can help you answer questions like:

  • Do our KS1 pupils feel safe at school?
  • What do our KS2 pupils have for breakfast?
  • Are KS2 pupils aware of illegal drugs?

To see what sort of reports you can receive, see our Reports page.

Perception surveys

SHEU is perhaps best known for its lifestyle surveys, but for many years we have been helping schools get feedback from pupils and parents about how they see the work of the school and what might need changing.
Our most popular questionnaire was structured around the Every Child Matters framework of:
* Be Healthy
* Stay Safe
* Enjoy and Achieve

Lifestyle surveys

SHEU is perhaps best known for its lifestyle surveys, available on paper and online, which cover a wide range of topics related to health and well-being.

Parent surveys

Our parent/carer surveys have mostly been perception surveys rather than lifestyle surveys, although we have done both. They can be completed on paper or online, and can be customised to suit your situation.  See also:
